Point Standing
2013 Points system for all classes.
2.0 Series Points TREC 2013
2.1 Points accumulate each race.
2.2 TREC officials determine which races will be points races, and have the authority to add or remove points races from the schedule at their discretion
2.3 Race points are based on the number of entries for that race in order to award points based on strength of field. First place receives points equal to number of entries, and one point is deducted per place behind leader. (For 10 entries, 1st place = 10 points, 2nd= 9 points, 3rd = 8, continuing down to 1 point. For 3 entries, 1st = 3 points, 2nd = 2 points ,3rd = 1 point.)
2.4 A Did Not Finish (DNF) is given when a racer starts the race but does not complete at least one lap. A DNF is worth 1 point.
2.5 There are no points rewarded for a Did Not Start (DNS). The team’s eligible car must have passed technical inspection and must be at the starting line at the start of the race.
2.6 There are no points rewarded for a Disqualification (DQ).
2.7 Tie breaker. Rules will be applied in order until a tie is broken:
2.7.1 Most 1st place finishes
2.7.2 Finish order of the last race of the season
2.8 Points can be accumulated in one of two ways and must be declared on initial sign-up sheet for the year. No changes after initial sign up (including add/remove drivers)
2.8.1 Driver points - One driver, multiple cars. One driver accumulates points and can use alternate car that is class legal. Beneficial if driver plans to introduce new car during race season, or needs to go to backup car. Cannot change cars during race.
2.8.2 Team points - Multiple drivers, one car. Two or more drivers can share driving duties for one vehicle. In this case, the car constitutes the chassis of the vehicle. ***UPDATE*** YOU WILL BE ALLOWED TO REPLACE THE ORIGINAL CAR ONE TIME IN THE RACE SEASON. Cannot change cars during a race.
2.9 Series points cannot be transferred between classes
